Innovation

Sunnaas Hospital’s vision is to be “a way forward” for those who use our services, whether patients, relatives, industry partners or other stakeholders. This means that innovation is a central activity for us.

The goal of innovation at Sunnaas Hospital is to create new solutions with a positive impact, developed in a way that allows others to use them as well. In practice, this may involve testing and implementing new technology, organizing rehabilitation services differently, or collaborating with others. Innovation can also mean improving what we already do.

All innovation at Sunnaas Hospital takes place in close collaboration with the Sunnaas Rehabilitation Cluster (SRC).

SRC is an international network for research, innovation, and education in rehabilitation. SRC contributes to the development of new products, diagnostics, treatments, and service solutions in cooperation with users and in line with Sunnaas Hospital’s core values: professionalism, engagement, and joy.

Sunnaas Hospital, academic partners, and industry partners work together to develop future rehabilitation solutions in an active hospital environment. All activities are also carried out in close collaboration with our users.

testbed in a hospital is a real-life healthcare setting where new ideas, technologies, and solutions can be tested and improved together with healthcare professionals and patients. It allows innovators to gather feedback and learn what works before introducing solutions on a larger scale. Testbeds help turn innovative ideas into practical, patient-focused improvements in healthcare.

In the testbed, new technology and digital solutions are developed in close cooperation with various industry partners. We offer our industrial partners idea discussions, access to expert opinions, workshops and prototype validation to clinical testing of finished products.

All activity in the testbed must be specifically aimed at Sunnaas Hospital’s user groups and priority areas.

Sunnaas Hospital works continuously on developing innovation projects in partnership with industry, academia, and public-sector partners. For these types of projects, we seek external funding through the Research Council of Norway, South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst), and the EU.

Sunnaas Hospital is a partner in:

In addition, we collaborate with other health trusts in Helse Sør-Øst and other regions. We also have various partnerships with numerous municipalities and companies.
