It is meant to enhance the participants understanding of interpretation, scoring, current protocols, and the latest research in the field of dysphagia. Throughout the 7 hour workshop, participants will have an opportunity to sharpen their skills, share their experiences, and calibrate their scoring and interpretation against Dr Langmore and other participants. It will be an interactive course.
Cancelled in 2022
Due to unforeseen events, we are very sorry to report that the Langmore Advanced FEES course in September 2022 has been cancelled. We are currently deciding whether we will arrange a new course for 2023. We advise you to periodically check the this website for updates
The course is tailored towards clinicians (ENT, physicians, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, nurses) who have been using FEES for at least one year, and who want more advanced training in scoring and interpreting FEES exams.
On conclusion of the program, the participants will be able to:
- Be aware of the latest research and clinical updates
- Administer a standard FEES protocol and be familiar with other protocols
- Score a FEES exam using a standard scoresheet
- Interpret abnormal findings from a study
- Use appropriate treatment using FEES
- Participate in a patient examination
Lectures and interactive case studies. The instructor will have videos to review, but participants are encouraged to bring their own videos that were challenging to interpret and/or proved challenging in recommending diet or rehabilitation options. Bring it on a USB device and present it to Dr. Langmore during first half hour of the day. Optimal scope handling technique, various scoring tools, and updates on FEES research will also be discussed.
This course is offered for 0.65 CEU’s (Intermediate level; Professional area), and a certificate of completion is provided to participants who complete all parts of the 1-day course.
